Detox is the first step in the recovery process

Non-medical detox does allow detox medications to be taken. The number of days required for detox depends on the needs of each individual. Traditionally, detox lasts from 5 to 10 days. We provide a non-medical detox but we do allow medications prescribed by a physician to be taken to ease the process. Each participant is taken to see a physician to get medically cleared and receive medication to aid in a safe detox.

Unlike most detox centers we do not have a set time when participants should go to bed. Detoxing from drugs and alcohol is tough and we know it. We've been through it! We allow our participants to watch television until they are tired and we do not have a set time that they wake up outside of receiving their medication. At no time may a participant leave the grounds for any reason without staff. We do offer a back yard and meeting area that they are allowed to go to freely. Visitation to our facility prior to admission is encouraged.

Detox accommodates both men and women 18 years of age and older. We do not discriminate against race, religion, lack of religion, or sexual orientation. We are staffed with certified counselors who work in our licensed home setting. To make an appointment please call us at 916-376-7400. Visitors are encouraged to support the recovering person between the hours of 9am to 10pm and may not be under the influence of alcohol and illegal drugs.

AHVets Detox is a non-medical residential environment located in Sacramento County for men and women that are seeking assistance in getting off drugs or alcohol. We have two detoxification facilities, one co-ed, and a men's facility, dedicated to Veterans. Detox times vary but you can expect to stay with us from 5 to 10 days.
